The vision for a vibrant Neuse River Park is one step closer to becoming a reality. On January 7, 2025, City Council approved the park’s master plan, and now the project is moving into the design and permitting phase. Construction is planned for 2026-2028.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

River Access & Overlooks: Enjoy kayaking, fishing, swimming and wading, or relaxing by the river with new access points and scenic overlooks.

Hiking & Multi-Use Trails: Connecting hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers to the Neuse River Greenway and nearby areas.

Nature Play Areas: An interactive nature play zone where kids can climb and explore.

Community Spaces: A lawn and pavilion to gather with friends or attend local events.

Enhanced Amenities: New features to support the park, including restrooms, water fill stations, and expanded parking.
